Designing Bears LLC began with a shared idea: thoughtful products and personal support can encourage people to feel their best—spiritually, socially, and emotionally.
Founded by Oscar Smalls and Randy Clark in the fall of 2024, Designing Bears opened its doors on October 31, 2024, as a “mental health service with a gift shop.” Randy offered support as a wellness navigator and life coach, while both founders designed and made products using sewing and embroidery machines.
As the business grew, its two sides found their own paths. Randy became a Certified Addiction Professional in 2025. In 2026, his mental health services moved to True Colors Wellness and Counseling, allowing each business to better serve its customers.
Today, Designing Bears continues through creativity and craftsmanship. Oscar develops embroidered crossbody bags and machine embroidery designs for the shop. Randy creates original handmade accessories and functional art, primarily for our in-person events.
Our founding mission remains close to our hearts: to encourage awareness, mindfulness, and a more conscious approach to everyday life through what we create.

Buddha Bear is our mascot and a reminder of why we started. He represents our aspiration to feel our best spiritually, socially, and emotionally—and to encourage others along the way.
